A couple weeks ago, I stumbled across the Treasury Challenge Non-team, and this week, I decided to participate.
The basics of how it works is an item is chosen, and anyone who wishes to creates a treasury on Etsy using that item. The judge chooses a winner based on whatever criteria he/she chooses, and the creator of the winning treasury then becomes the judge for the next week, and one of that person's items becomes the inspiration item for that week. It's a really fun idea, so I had to try it.
This week's inspiration item was this heart necklace from Chronopolis on Etsy.
I decided to go with a theme of intricate hearts. I looked through dozens of pages in my search for hearts on Etsy, and chose 16 hearts for my treasury Intricacies of the Heart. Go check it out, and let me know what you think!
If you participate in this challenge, leave me a link to your treasury. I'd love to check it out!
By the way, how are we liking the new blog design? Let me know if you have any problems at all reading this font. I love the hand-written look, but I know sometimes it's hard to read. I tried to choose the most legible, but I do work at a newspaper, and I've learned to be able to read all kinds of bad handwriting!
This blog is just a place for the random thoughts of a pencil artist and rookie photographer who loves horses, nature, and rural life.

Quite possibly my favorite treasury to date
Take a look at this Horses in Greyscale treasury by Dear1Heart on Etsy.
Of all the treasuries, I've had my work featured in, I think this one is my very favorite! :)

Raindrops on Roses
It's always nice to get a pleasant email first thing in the morning, and while it's not a sale, one of my items has been featured in a collection.
My photograph "Raindrops on Roses" was chosen to be part of this fun collection.
This collection inspired my picks for today. Seems everything I was drawn to was pink or rose red.
My favorite skirt has a crocheted overlay, and I just love everything about it. I'm loving the red on black of this piece!
I'm just amazed at the amount of work that must've gone into this! Can you imagine?
Don't ask me why, but in my mind, roses and stars go together, so yes, this does still fit my theme. :) I just love the look of these stars, and if you go check out the other photos, there's something on the back of it too!

Two new Artfire collections and an Etsy treasury
My work has been chosen for two additional collections on Artfire! Yes, the one happened a couple weeks ago, but I haven't had the time to post about it, and it's such a neat idea that I had to include it. Check out the gorgeous work: Angles and Wild Horses
My photograph "Raw Beauty" was also chosen for a treasury on Etsy: Liver Chestnuts

Artfire & the coming weekend
Just to let everyone know, I now have a shop on Artfire as well as Etsy. I think I've gotten the listings all edited now so there's no more Etsy links in them. It's going to be tough keeping up with both shops, but I'm hoping the Artfire shop will be a little less maintenance as far as staying visible. I also have a banner now for both shops, so be sure to check that out (I made it myself, and I'm pretty proud of it!). The link to my Artfire shop is here.
I'm also very excited to have already been featured in a collection on Artfire - Horse Lovers! Check it out!
Tomorrow afternoon, I leave for the Twin Cities to exhibit in the Scott County Art Crawl on Saturday. I'm really nervous as this will be my first time driving in the cities, but I'll have a friend along to help navigate. I'll be in the library in Shakopee from 9-6 if anyone's in the area. The website is here if you'd like to take a look.

My first Etsy treasury!
I had so much fun making this last night! There's an incredible amount of drool-worthy artwork out there! I chose a subject near and dear to my heart (horses) for my first treasury. Equine Essence - if the link doesn't work, here's the address to copy and paste: www.etsy.com/treasury/4c5f7921290a8eef4756d99e/equine-essence?index=0
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
