Due to being busy with my sister's wedding this weekend, I'm not going to be able to get to the post office until Tuesday (possibly Monday, but I'm scheduling in a day off just in case I need it).
Due to the delayed shipping, I'm offering 10% off all purchases Thursday through Monday.
Just enter the code vacation062011 at my ArtFire or Etsy shops.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Friday favorites June 11
I actually bought this popcorn spice kit from purposedesign on Etsy, but I gave it away in a Christmas gift exchange. I've been wanting to buy one for myself ever since.
Love these seasonal dragon prints from MysticMoonMedia on ArtFire.
This little dragon from AprilDraven on Etsy is super cute!
Love the detail in this fairy drawing from Morgaine-du-Mer on ArtFire.
Gorgeous colors in this orchid photograph from AutumnsHollow on Etsy.
I can't get over how stunning this sunset photo from RainWolf on ArtFire is!
Pretty scarf from LogCabinCreation on Etsy.
More beautiful colors in this shawl from Splendiferous Fiber on ArtFire.
Fun way to dress up a plain skirt.
This is such a creative idea for a beach wedding, and I love the quote!
I'm doing once a month cooking on Saturday, and Sunday I'll go out to eat for my grandma's 90th birthday! What are your plans for the weekend?

Thank you to a generous artist
A while back, as I was starting to think about what crafts I should choose to teach for vacation Bible school this year, I stumbled across a shop on Etsy with the most beautiful suncatchers/ornaments ever! After a few minutes of looking at them, it crossed my mind that this could be a great crafts for kids! A little nervous about asking, I wrote a note to the seller, explaining that I had no intent of profiting in any way from her ideas, but asking if she would share some tips for making her suncatchers.
The response I got back was more than I could've ever hoped for. I was overwhelmed with tips, suggestions for materials, and links to videos and suppliers.
I decided to go with it, and I spent the past couple days watching kids ranging from 1st-8th grade enjoy this craft! They had to practice a little patience as they had to wait for an adult to bend the end of each wire before starting on the next, but it seems like when they really enjoy a craft, suddenly they have way more patience than you'd ever expect!
So today, I want to give a big THANK YOU to Diane of dragon144 for her tremendous generosity in sharing her craft with 30-40 kids.

Treasury challenge
A couple weeks ago, I stumbled across the Treasury Challenge Non-team, and this week, I decided to participate.
The basics of how it works is an item is chosen, and anyone who wishes to creates a treasury on Etsy using that item. The judge chooses a winner based on whatever criteria he/she chooses, and the creator of the winning treasury then becomes the judge for the next week, and one of that person's items becomes the inspiration item for that week. It's a really fun idea, so I had to try it.
This week's inspiration item was this heart necklace from Chronopolis on Etsy.
I decided to go with a theme of intricate hearts. I looked through dozens of pages in my search for hearts on Etsy, and chose 16 hearts for my treasury Intricacies of the Heart. Go check it out, and let me know what you think!
If you participate in this challenge, leave me a link to your treasury. I'd love to check it out!
By the way, how are we liking the new blog design? Let me know if you have any problems at all reading this font. I love the hand-written look, but I know sometimes it's hard to read. I tried to choose the most legible, but I do work at a newspaper, and I've learned to be able to read all kinds of bad handwriting!
